Hello my name is Claire, I’m an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor.

The relationship between the client and counsellor has to 'fit' for counselling to work, so ensure you take your time and find one that feels right for you.

Here’s a little bit about me. My journey to becoming a Counsellor started many years ago when I saw how the counsellor helped the client navigate their way through their journey and out of the fog. Which intrigued me.

My passion for counselling grew from there and continues to do so. With the client always at the centre of our work together, I create a safe and comfortable space for you to talk freely and openly about whatever difficulties you're facing. I draw on a wide range of skills and the main theories of Integrative Therapy, so we can find a style that is right for you.

We look to counselling for many different reasons, you might know the reason and want someone to listen and support you to work through it. Or you might not know why you are struggling, either way, I like to offer a space where you feel heard and understood to explore this together.

My training, qualifications and experience:

  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

  • CPCAB Level 3 Therapeutic Counselling Studies

  • CPCAB Level 2 Skills in Therapeutic Counselling

  • CPCAB Level 2 Introduction to Counselling

Additional certificates in:

  • BACP Certificate in registration

  • Online and telephone counselling

  • ASSIST Suicide intervention skills

  • NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling skills

Hi, I’m Karen, a therapeutic Counsellor here at Shore Counselling.

Starting out, having gone through infertility and adoption myself, I was looking for avenues to help myself and my family to process what we were going through. This led me down the avenue of counselling courses which turned into a love affair for listening to other peoples stories and helping them to understand themselves more, regardless of what it was that brought them to counselling - Anxiety, grief, loss, low self esteem, depression etc

I feel that I offer empathy in a gentle, safe space for clients to feel unjudged and comfortable to explore what is troubling them. I use a humanistic integrative approach, meaning that I use talking therapy enhanced by a broad range of skills and theories centred around, and depending on the clients individual needs. I aim to really hear your story and understand your feelings so that we can work together to challenge the negative feelings.

Each client and counsellor relationship is different, and taking the first steps to counselling can feel daunting, so take your time to choose - we will still be here.
